Feather is a pioneer in the circular economy, with a mission to keep furniture out of landfills. As Lead Designer of the ecommerce site, I worked with a team of six, redesigning the mobile navigation to more efficiently connect customers to their desired products. For this project, I emphasized top-selling products, created large tap-able visual buttons, and crafted a design with reusable components -- so the Marketing team could make seasonal updates without tech intervention. When Feather decided to offer flexible purchasing options, I updated all aspects of the site, from the product listing page to the confirmation email. I designed 'rent' or 'buy' cards on the product description pages to clarify consumer choices. I also redesigned the cart so customers could easily switch from rent to buy before checkout.
Case Study
Zoltar is an internal inventory management tool that tracks deliveries and pickups, as well as managing customer subscriptions, payments, and leases. I worked with the Head Product Designer to map a User Journey spanning multiple touch points and verticals in the company, in order to identify roadblocks and assist with strategic planning. I designed hifi mocks to link subscriptions to accounts. I also updated the lease modal to accommodate enterprise leases, and designed a tool that allows the Merchandise Team to easily bulk import SKUs. All of the new designs were built using Atlassian Design System components to give Zoltar a face-lift.
Journey is a meditation app that helps people build mindfulness through community and live meditation classes. I worked as the head Product Designer on a team of four to redesign the app to provide a customized experience and allow users to connect directly with meditation teachers. For this, I created an onboarding quiz that generated personalized recommendations for classes. I redesigned the Home screen to include filters and offer free classes -- so people could try before they buy. I also updated the teacher bio screens with clearer visuals, so customers could easily find a teacher with whom they connected.
WeWork x Feather is a partnership that provides sustainable and flexible furniture to WeWork's business tenants. I led user interviews with tenants to understand their behaviors when making large business purchases, and then incorporated interview insights into a homepage redesign (featuring a broader range of products and funneling customers to the Office Builder tool). I worked with a team of 4 to redesign the site on Shopify. Additionally, I led usability testing on the Office Builder tool and shared recommendations directly with WeWork Stakeholders.
I am a Product Designer who strives to create experiences that contribute to peoples' lives in a delightful way. I have a background as a graphic designer for female-owned skate and snowboard companies. Most recently, I’ve produced and taught meditation retreats. I apply my experience teaching and organizing retreats to my design process. Listening deeply to meditation students and users can yield similar results; space for people to really talk about their motivations, desires, and obstacles. Leading retreats is also great training for being comfortable with the unknown and entering into situations with an unbiased perspective.
When I am not designing, I get my greatest inspiration from nature. I like to spend time in the woods hiking, swimming, or looking for edible mushrooms. I think nature is the most innovative designer, she’s been iterating on her prototype for over 5 billion years!
